Grasp new positioning
Make high-quality development more resilient
The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that "high-quality development is the primary task of comprehensively building a socialist modernized country". Faced with new development patterns and challenges, the positioning of the chemical fiber industry is also undergoing profound changes. In April of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the Guiding Opinions on the High Quality Development of the Chemical Fiber Industry, pointing out that the chemical fiber industry is the core support for the stable development and continuous innovation of the textile industry chain, an internationally competitive advantage industry, and an important component of the new materials industry. Xia Nong, a first level inspector of the Industry Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, pointed out in his speech that "this positioning is a new judgment made on the positioning of the chemical fiber industry based on a thorough analysis of the new historical stage of China's chemical fiber industry, a comprehensive understanding and grasp of the important role of the chemical fiber industry. This will definitely give new tasks and put forward new requirements for the development of the chemical fiber industry
Chemical fiber is an important fiber raw material in the textile industry, which not only relates to the people's longing for a better life, but also relates to national security and economic construction for the high-quality development of the chemical fiber industry in the new stage. At present, the global economy and industrial development pattern have undergone profound changes. China's chemical fiber industry is facing many development pressures and challenges, such as rising crude oil prices, sluggish downstream demand, and declining enterprise benefits. In this context, how should the chemical fiber industry promote high-quality development?
Xu Kunyuan, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Textile Industry and former Vice President of the China Textile Industry Federation, pointed out in his speech that chemical fiber now accounts for over 80% of textile raw materials, and is also an important basic material for industrial textiles. The chemical fiber industry is not only an important livelihood industry, but also a strategic emerging industry. Therefore, the chemical fiber industry needs to explore and innovate, adjust its structure, research and develop high-tech fibers, optimize its industrial system, and collaborate with upstream and downstream industrial chains to gradually achieve the goals of high-end, informatization, intelligence, and green development, and achieve high-quality development.
After the development of the 13th Five Year Plan period, China's chemical fiber industry has continued to deepen supply side structural reform, continuously promote industrial structure adjustment, and further consolidate its position and role in China's textile industry system and the global chemical fiber industry, laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive construction of a chemical fiber power. The 14th Five Year Plan period is an important opportunity period for the comprehensive construction of a chemical fiber power and achieving high-quality development. The chemical fiber industry should fully implement the new development strategy We will vigorously implement the Guiding Opinions on the High Quality Development of the Chemical Fiber Industry, strengthen independent innovation of key technologies and equipment for new fiber materials, accelerate digital transformation and upgrading, promote green and low-carbon transformation, and build a modern industrial system for high-end, intelligent, and green development in the chemical fiber industry Jiang Shicheng, academician of the CAE Member, said in his speech.
For the high-quality development of the chemical fiber industry, Xia Nong proposes three suggestions: firstly, focus on improving the resilience and safety level of the industrial chain supply chain. Strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of the industrial chain should be given a more important position, and efforts should be made to build an independent, controllable, safe, and reliable industrial chain supply chain. Especially, the key points related to the stable development of the industry need to fill in the gaps, enhance independent intellectual property rights and alternative continuity capabilities, and ensure the stability and smoothness of the industrial chain supply chain. The second is to focus on building a new development pattern in the industry. To enhance the added value and brand influence of China's fiber products through high-quality development, and enhance the global value chain position of China's chemical fiber industry; Efforts should be made from both supply and demand sides to expand effective demand, form a strong domestic market, and promote production transformation and upgrading, consolidating and enhancing industrial competitive advantages. Thirdly, we will focus on promoting green, circular, and low-carbon development in the industry. We need to handle the relationship between industry development and carbon reduction, coordinate and orderly promote carbon peaking work, study and formulate a dual carbon strategy roadmap for the chemical fiber industry, clarify the implementation path of carbon reduction in the industry, and promote the formation of green and low-carbon production and lifestyle.
Based on the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, He Yaqiong, Director of the Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, proposed four suggestions for the next development of the chemical fiber industry: firstly, deepen the supply side structural reform, and deeply implement the "three products" strategy of increasing varieties, improving quality, and creating brands. We need to enhance the resilience of the supply system, lead and create demand with high-quality supply, and promote industrial upgrading, product upgrading, and consumption upgrading. We should attach great importance to the role of "brand", expand the influence of "China's fiber trend", "green fiber" and other work, enhance consumers' awareness of Chinese fibers and enterprises, further collaborate with clothing and home textile enterprises to strengthen the cultivation of advantageous brands, and expand demand and maintain supply chain security and stability through brand building. The second is to accelerate intelligent and green transformation, consolidate and enhance international competitiveness. We should pay more attention to high-end, intelligent, and green development, and win the market with hard advantages such as quality and price. To make green and low-carbon a new competitive advantage in the chemical fiber industry, and empower textile and clothing products with green and low-carbon fiber products. The third is to promote the collaborative innovation and application of various fiber raw materials, and improve the resilience and safety level of the industrial chain supply chain. Promote collaborative innovation and mutual empowerment between chemical fibers and natural fibers, strengthen the development of new technologies and products, promote the healthy and organic linkage of the chemical fiber and cotton chains, support each other, and enhance the resilience and safety level of the industrial chain supply chain. The fourth is to strengthen international cooperation in industry and trade, and build a new development pattern of mutual promotion between domestic and international circulation.
Adapt to the new situation
Empowering new tracks with new materials
Since the beginning of this year, the international environment has become more complex and severe, with an increase in unstable factors. In the keynote report, Du Yingfen, a counselor of the State Council and researcher at the Institute of Industrial Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, analyzed the current situation of China's macroeconomic development in 2022. She stated that from a domestic perspective, the epidemic continues to spread, and there is significant pressure on epidemic prevention and control. Coupled with the triple pressures of demand contraction, supply shock, and weakening expectations, China's economic growth is facing serious challenges. Especially since March, due to the impact of the epidemic, China's industrial and supply chains have been severely impacted, and investment, consumption, trade, and other sectors have all been under tremendous downward pressure. Under pressure, the Chinese economy has demonstrated strong resilience. The Party Central Committee has successively introduced a series of policies and measures to stabilize the economy, and various regions and departments have resolutely implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. In accordance with the requirements of preventing the epidemic, stabilizing the economy, and ensuring safe development, we have efficiently coordinated epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, and increased efforts to implement various measures to stabilize the economy, "Du Yingfen said. From recent data, The national economy has continued its recovery trend, with stable growth in industrial investment, overall stability in employment and prices, enhanced accumulation of new energy, strong and effective protection of people's livelihoods, and overall economic and social stability.
Looking forward to the future, Du Yingfen suggests that we should base ourselves on the bottom line thinking and prevent global inflation from "pouring back", including improving energy supply guarantee plans, doing a good job in managing core energy demand, maintaining the basic stability of the RMB exchange rate at a reasonable and balanced level, and avoiding economic stagnation from the demand side. At the same time, we must prioritize stable growth and ensure that the economy operates within a reasonable range; Stabilize consumption and unleash consumption potential.
The development of the national macroeconomic system has a crucial impact on the development of the industry. Where is the new track for the chemical fiber industry in the national macroeconomic environment?
"The new track has been mentioned many times in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In fact, the new track is an open topic. It has huge market potential, new growth opportunities, new scenes, new species, and new tracks. It is the development path of new economic industries. It is bottom-up and dynamic. For example, people's livelihood track, digital track, technology track, and industrial track." CAS Member Zhu Meifang, Dean of the School of Materials at Donghua University, gave her thoughts during her keynote speech on empowering new tracks with fiber new materials. Based on her team's research, she introduced the evolution of online tracking material structures (chain, condensed state, hybrid structure) and proposed that in the future, by building a visual characterization platform, the application process can be accelerated to help upgrade China's fiber industry; By analyzing the properties of graphene fibers, porous graphene fibers and their supercapacitors, high capacity graphene/polyaniline hybrid fibers, carbon nanotube fibers, and their fabrics, the research progress and development prospects of fiber materials in energy management were demonstrated.
With the integration of physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, and information technology, fiber science has grown into a multidisciplinary research frontier, and fiber technology has become an important component that affects and guides the development direction of modern industry. Fiber materials have shown great potential as intelligent and high-performance materials. Zhu Meifang pointed out that the fiber industry has entered a new track, and the raw materials, polymerization, processing, and forming processes have been endowed with new concepts of technology, environmental protection, and intelligence. The new generation of fibers, characterized by intelligence, super performance, and green, can play a high permeability, disruptive, and transformative role in improving traditional industrial clusters. This will be the research direction.
Taking carbon fiber as an example, in recent years, the demand for carbon fiber in the new energy field has grown rapidly, and the demand for domestically produced carbon fiber has significantly increased. The profit space of domestic carbon fiber enterprises continues to increase. In the future, domestic carbon fibers will have broad application prospects in high value-added fields such as aerospace, pressure vessels, and carbon/carbon composite materials. Enterprises with independent intellectual property rights and continuous innovation capabilities will take the lead in future competition.
Carbon fibers are usually combined with other materials such as resins to form composite materials, which can be used to prepare both structural materials and functional materials or materials with both structure and function. Carbon fiber preform, also known as carbon fiber fabric, is a composite material reinforcement with a specific shape formed by weaving, weaving, stitching, needle punching, and other methods using carbon fiber as the raw material. It is the "key reinforcement substrate" of composite materials. The structure and performance of prefabricated bodies directly affect the structure and performance of composite materials, and are key basic materials for advanced composite materials.
At the meeting, Miao Yunliang, Chairman of Jiangsu Tianniao High tech Co., Ltd., introduced the preparation and application of carbon fiber preforms. Carbon fiber preforms can be divided into two categories based on their structure: flat fabric preforms and three-dimensional fabric preforms. Among them, three-dimensional fabric preforms can be divided into 2.5D weaving, three-dimensional weaving, stitching, puncture, needle punching, etc., and needle punched carbon fiber preforms are widely used. Compared with 3D woven preforms, needle punched preforms have the advantages of uniform pore distribution, easy densification, high in-plane and interlayer strength, high production efficiency, low cost, and easy to achieve mass production. Its application areas include aircraft carbon brake discs, single crystal thermal equipment thermal field materials such as heat generators, insulation screens, crucibles, rocket engine combustion chambers, nozzles, etc. For example, needle punched preforms have been widely used in a wide range of domestic aircraft models, including C919 and ARJ-21.
Miao Yunliang mentioned that China began to develop pre oxidized fiber acupuncture technology in the 1970s. In 1997, Tianniao High tech successfully developed aircraft carbon fiber brake top system, thermal field prefabrication, large nozzle prefabrication, and other products using original carbon cloth/mesh tire layer needle punching technology, achieving mass production and forming an integrated product group. At present, Tianniao High tech has become one of the main manufacturers of prefabricated carbon/carbon composite materials in China.
In the technology track, the products in the later stages of the textile industry chain will reflect the development trend and content of technology, and the popularity of its raw material - fibers actually better reflects the trend of technological development. Wang Huaping, a researcher at Donghua University, interpreted the theme and products of China's fiber trend in 2022/2023. Based on in-depth research on major events, the release of China's fiber trend has put forward many hot words, ultimately proposing the theme of "unbounded and co operative". At the same time, based on the investigation of popular elements and the common needs of consumers, the Chinese fiber trend release team released two major chapters, "Fiber · Natural Origin" and "Fiber · Butterfly Transformation", with 29 types of fibers in eight categories. Over the past 10 years since the release of China's fiber trend, focusing on the theme of innovation, we have not only focused on industrial development, but also on the environment and ecology, leading the fiber industry to embark on a unique fiber path and witnessing the industry's transition from a fiber powerhouse to a fiber powerhouse.
In order to further strengthen the close integration of fibers and upstream key raw materials, promote the integration and development of the industrial chain, and promote product innovation in chemical fiber enterprises, the China Fiber Trend Research Project has launched a solicitation activity for high-quality suppliers of chemical fiber oil additives and masterbatches since this year. At the meeting, the 2022 China Fiber Trend Chemical Fiber Oil Additives (8) and Masterbatches (6) high-quality suppliers were announced.
